Still looking for an Apple, but playing with Android for the time being

by on Oct.17, 2009, under Uncategorized

I decided not too long ago that I wanted to try my hand at some iPhone development. After much searching, I realized I needed a Mac to make that happen. I have been looking a while for a discount Mac to buy, but my search has been fruitless thus far.
So, on a whim, I decided I would look into Android development. This has a few benefits. I am familiar with Eclipse due to my day job, and my day job includes Java, so it’s an easy extension of what I do. On the flip side… I don’t own an Android phone, though the emulator that comes with the SDK is just fine.
Now.. it’s time to come up with an idea of what to code!
My first plan is to just take some iPhone apps that I use alot and copy them (NOTE: this is NOT to sell, it is just for me to shape up some techy skills, so copying other apps is not something that bothers me).
Beyond that.. any ideas from the peanut gallery on apps to try?
