Lots has happened!

by on May.17, 2010, under Uncategorized

Man, I need to get better at this.
So.. what’s happened.. I got married, hung out for a week in Boothbay Harbor Maine, then went and helped out at my godsons christening. *phew*
Wedding was amazing.. for those that were there, know that I have never had a day when I smiled as continuously, richly and as much as I did for that day.. just the greatest day of my life thus far. In addition to obviously my wife, and her maid of honor, I can’t possibly say enough about my best man Jeff… he took the book, threw it out, and rewrote it as to how to do the best job any one could ever ask for. Over and over again, he was an incredible guy to have with me through the whole thing. I could not possibly thank him enough.
In terms of Boothbay.. great place to visit.. I especially suggest Robinson’s Wharf for amazingly priced lobster!
Christening.. my godson, Alexander Thomas.. actually SLEPT through his entire christening.. amazing.. and humbling to be part of that.. can’t thank my brother and his wife enough for that honor.
I think that’s all for now.. trying to get back to life, and get ready for a trip to the UK next week for work!

Fun with weddings!

by on Nov.24, 2009, under Uncategorized

Mine in particular.
The last few days have been spent in CT staying with my fiancée’s family so that we could hammer out some more details for our upcoming nuptials. (We travel later today after working up to my parents place in MA).
This has involved a number of items, first we met with the caterer to do the final choices on the overall plan for the wedding.
This involved determining the food items we wanted to try at our official “taste testing session” to come later. We also made some final decisions on beer (Stella/MH #9/Newcastle) and thought we made final decision on wine. Later on we went to a wine store to get ahold of the wine the caterer said they use, and wow.. it was crap. So we have spent the last few days testing wines with friends/family up here to help refine our choices on that front. (fun fun fun!)
Yesterday we met for the first time (of 3 meetings) with the Pastor who will be presiding over the ceremony. Great guy btw!
Last up was the photographer, a VW friend of my fiancée’s brother. That went very well, a little friends and family discount, and poof, we had a contract in place, and one more check box checked.
All that’s left on the planning front at this point is the music for the reception, and we’ll be set!

Wedding invitations/Save the date cards

by on Oct.17, 2009, under Uncategorized

We have spent the evening looking through various save the date cards and wedding invitations. I don’t know how people do it! It’s like 7 months away from some date, yet you are supposed to choose pieces of paper that act as representatives of yourselves to send out to all of your friends/family so that they know when you are getting married and where you are getting married. Then you have to figure out if you want them to match the initiations, in which case, you need to buy both of them at that time.
All of this said.. we found invitations we both liked.. but of COURSE there ar eno save the date magnets that go with that design.
We’ll see where this all ends up…..

New Website Finally Up!

by on Oct.11, 2009, under Uncategorized

After getting substantially heckled by JJ this evening.. it was decided that I needed to get off my duff and get a damn web page up and running. The real driving force behind getting the site up is, of course, the whole “wedding” thing. Now I need to set up a wedding page.. with RSVP ability, where we are registered, where we are getting married.. where the hotel is etc.
Hopefully I’ll get that stuff done soon.. this is just to get it started.
